APPAM Launches COVID-19 Member Resources, Data and Research Collaboration Hub

As many professional organizations around the globe explore ways that they can contribute to addressing the current public health crisis, APPAM would like to provide members with a platform for interacting and sharing ideas focused around the COVID-19 topic. To that end, we are launching a Resources, Data, and Research Collaboration Hub.


APPAM Announces Open Submission Period for 2017 Regional Student Conferences

WASHINGTON, DC (December 19, 2016) —The Association of Public Policy Analysis and Management (APPAM) is now accepting proposal submissions for two Regional Student Conferences which will be held in April 2017. During these conferences, students will present research across a wide variety of policy areas, through poster sessions and on conference panels with their peers. Both Masters and Ph.D. students are encouraged to submit proposals for these conferences. Submissions for both conferences will be accepted until January 18, 2017.

The DC Regional Student Conference will be held on April 7th - 8th, 2017 at George Mason University in Arlington, VA. The California Regional Student Conference will be held on April 9th - 10th at the University of California Riverside in Riverside, CA. For both conferences, APPAM will solicit abstracts for individual papers or projects to be integrated into panels, panels made up of 3 - 4 papers/projects, and posters.

APPAM will accept submissions for both Regional Student Conferences from the following policy areas:

  • Crime and Drugs
  • Education
  • Employment and Training Programs
  • Family and Child Policy
  • Health Policy
  • Homeland Security and Emergency Management
  • Housing and Community Development
  • Impact of Politics on the Policy Process
  • International Development Policy
  • Natural Resource Security, Energy, and Environmental Policy
  • National Security and Foreign Policy
  • Politics, Presidential Studies, and Election Management
  • Population and Migration Issues
  • Poverty and Income Policy
  • Public and Nonprofit Management and Finance
  • Social Equity
  • Science and Technology
  • Tools of Analysis: Methods, Data, Informatics, and Research Design
