May 10, 2013 01:00 PM

The Association for Public Policy Analysis & Management (APPAM) will hold a mentoring session opportunity as part of its inaugural Professional Development Workshop (PDW) for Doctoral Students, to be held on November 6, one day prior to the official opening of APPAM’s 2013 Fall Research Conference in Washington, D.C., on November 7-9, 2013.

Register for this event.

Mentoring Session Details

This invitation-only mentoring experience will provide doctoral students in the dissertation development stage of their programs a rare opportunity to engage one-on-one with a leading academic in their field, to receive additional feedback on their dissertation topic. A limited number of mentoring session slots are available; participating students will be paired with a mentor in a one-hour session on the afternoon of November 6.

Important Dates

May 16: Submissions open
July 15: Submission deadline
August 15: Participants notified of acceptance
September 1: Deadline for confirmation of attendance at mentoring session
October 25: Deadline for registration for PDW
November 6: Fall Doctoral Pre-Conference Professional Development Workshop

Please note that although we will do our best to encourage invitees to accept the invitation to attend the mentoring session, it will be at the mentor's discretion. If the three suggested mentors are unavailable, the APPAM leadership team will ensure an appropriate match for students from the APPAM membership.

How do I register?
Additional registration details to join the mentoring session will be forwarded to accepted authors in mid-August. Register for this event.

Who can attend?
The mentoring session will be limited to doctoral students who have not defended their dissertation proposal.
