APPAM is carefully monitoring Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and thinking about how to deal with the risks it poses to our membership. This is a fast changing situation and APPAM is following local DC/MD/VA health department directives, the CDC, and US Department of State guidelines (for travel domestically and internationally.) We are also monitoring WHO situation reports for global updates. APPAM will adjust our staff policies regarding travel and work as the situation evolves. Best method of reaching APPAM Staff is via email.

APPAM is now at a high level of preparation for a public health emergency.

  • As of 3/16, APPAM has temporarily closed its physical office and established a virtual office and headquarters with remote work. Staff will be working full-time and be providing as full a level of service to our members and the public as possible.
  • APPAM Governance meetings will still currently go on as scheduled, but we are continually re-assessing this decision in terms of CDC guidelines, DC/MD/VA health department directives, and WHO situation reports.
  • We are committed to the fall conference, even if it had to take a format other than an in-person meeting, we know that in this period of uncertainty, you might need a little more time to pull submissions together and we will be responsive to that, stay tuned.

APPAM has taken the following specific actions in response to the public health emergency:

APPAM Future Events

As of this moment other events are slated to be held, however, we are actively re-assessing these decisions in terms of of CDC guidelines, state and local health department directives and the policies of our partner organizations where appropriate.
