APPAM Student Brown Bag Series: Discussion & Networking with Lee Badgett
Are you an emerging policy professional eager to influence policy with your research? Please join APPAM and AcademyHealth as we take a deep dive into what policy students and practitioners can do to become an influential policy advisor and go-to person on emerging issues.
Dr. M.V. Lee Badgett, author of The Public Professor: How to Use your Research to Change the World, will offer scholars ways to use their ideas, research, and knowledge to change the policy world. Dr. Badgett will offer clear and practical advice to help scholars develop relationships with the people who can get your research into Congressional hearings, on NPR, and into the pages of national newspapers.
APPAM members are invited to attend this event, held in conjunction with AcademyHealth, to meet with policy students, professionals, and Dr. Badgett to examine issues such as:
What skills, resources, and tools are needed to put ideas into action
How to see the big picture and master communication with new audiences
How to build a strategic network of policy professionals
We invite policy students and professionals of all levels to attend and share their experiences with other APPAM and AcademyHealth members. The event will be held on Wednesday, June 15th from 5:30pm - 7:30pm at AcademyHealth. Complementary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be provided.
