Announcing the 2018 Public Policy Camps

The Public Policy Camp is an initiative to introduce the field of public policy to a group of students who might not otherwise be familiar with it, as well as increase the pipeline of diverse students into APPAM institutional member graduate public policy and public affairs schools. After our inaugural camp at George Washington University, we are thrilled to announce two upcoming Public Policy Camps in September.

Call for 2013 APPAM Policy Council and Officer Nominations

The Association for Public Policy Analysis & Management is soliciting its members for nominations to the APPAM Policy Council and for the positions of APPAM President-elect, Vice-President, and Secretary. All terms will begin in 2014.

As you might know, the membership voted to reduce the size of the Policy Council, beginning with these Policy Council elections. The membership will elect four people, instead of eight, to the Policy Council this year: two academics, one practitioner, and one institutional representative. The institutional representative position will be elected by the Committee of Institutional Representatives at their meeting in November.

If you would like to be considered for service on the Policy Council or for one of the office positions, or would like to nominate someone else, please contact Tara Sheehan, APPAM Executive Director, by Wednesday, August 7.

The full roster of candidates will be presented to the membership at the APPAM Business Meeting Lunch held in conjunction with the Fall Research Conference on Friday, November 8, in Washington, D.C. Shortly thereafter, voting will take place and the winners will be announced in January 2014.

You can find a list of the current APPAM Officers, members of the APPAM Policy Council, and the updated APPAM bylaws elsewhere on the Association website.
