Urie Bronfenbrenner Student Travel Fund for Doctoral Students in Child Development

APPAM is pleased to announce that the Foundation for Child Development is providing $8,700 in funds to assist doctoral students with their expenses related to attending the 2008 Fall Research Conference in Los Angeles, California. Individual travel grants of up to $750 for U.S. students and $1,000 for students outside of the U.S. will be available on a first-come, first served basis. Please note that APPAM does not have any other student travel grant programs at this time.

APPAM no longer is accepting applications for this program in 2008. All available grants have been made, and there are several persons on a waiting list. Please consider applying for a Brofenbrenner travel grant in 2009.

The Foundation for Child Development is funding this program to honor the legacy of Cornell University Professor Urie Bronfenbrenner, a renowned pioneer in the field of child development research who died in 2005 at the age of 88. For more information on the Foundation for Child Development, a foundation that, "seeks to understand children, particularly the disadvantaged, and to promote their well-being," please click here.
