Deadline for Submissions to 2014 Fall Conference Extended to April 18

April 11, 2014 09:00 AM

Have you submitted a proposal for the 2014 Fall Research Conference yet? Great news! The submission deadline has been extended to next Friday, April 18 for all proposals: caucuses, panels, individual papers, roundtables, workshops, and posters. (Read more about what each proposal entails.)

Remember, a strong panel proposal in particular contains three or four papers, a chair, and at least one discussant. The panel description ties the papers together and clearly indicates how the panel relates to the conference theme and the selected policy area. Be sure to include a diverse range of participants that crosses lines of gender, race, affiliation and research methods and perspective.

APPAM is still accepting single paper submissions, though fully formed panels have a much better chance of being accepted for inclusion in the conference. To help submitters create fully formed panels, APPAM has created the Single Paper Listing for Panel Creation resource. We encourage you to reach out to fellow members listed and create a fully formed panel. If you find a paper you would like to add to a panel, contact the submitter and see if they are interested in being part of your panel. Alternately, if you submit a single paper, others might contact you to see if you are interested in joining a panel. We have updated the page today (April 11) and will update it again next week on Tuesday (April 15) and Thursday (April 17).

A full list of commonly asked questions can be found on the submission FAQ page. If you have any difficulty submitting your proposal, please don't hesitate to contact Jocelyn Mason .

Remember, the new submission deadline is April 18 so don't delay!
