    This international conference, held in the capital of Europe’s political project, invites researchers, analysts, and policymakers to critically reflect on their experiences of working on issues of public policy and governance beyond borders. The event is sponsored by Masstricht University and Syracuse University. The theme of the 9th annual International Conference will be “Public Policy and Governance Beyond Borders.”

    APPAM will host two regional student conferences in 2017. The DC Regional Student Conference will be held on April 7th - 8th, 2017 at George Mason University in Arlington, VA. The California Regional Student Conference will be held on April 9th - 10th at the University of California Riverside in Riverside, CA. During these conferences, students will present research across a wide variety of policy areas, through poster sessions and on conference panels with their peers.

    Duke University's Sanford School of Public Policy and APPAM are hosting an Institutional Member forum on February 17, 2017 which will explore how research being conducted in universities is informing policy. Discussion will include the role of practitioners in making policy, researcher/policymaker partnerships, and some strategies to bridge the gap between policy and practice.
