Available Lists
APPAM has two mailing lists that third parties
may rent to use for sending materials by regular mail. Please note that APPAM
never provides email addresses to third parties under any circumstances. The
two mailing lists are all APPAM individual members and the APPAM Institutional
Representatives. Here are basic facts about these two lists.
- All APPAM individual members: The total number of persons on this list fluctuates through the year between 1800 and 2200 persons. Approximately one quarter are students, and 150-200 are outside the United States. It is possible to exclude addresses from the list based on location, student status, and, in some cases, areas of research expertise.
- APPAM Institutional Representatives: Each institutional member of APPAM designates a representative to act as the official laison with APPAM. At this time there are approximately 107 representatives located mostly in the United States (11 are outside of the U.S. as of October 2006). To view the complete list of institutions, please click

Eligible Uses for the Lists
APPAM will provide lists for purposes that comply
with the association's mission to "improve public policy and management by fostering
excellence in research, analysis and education." Purposes that meet this criterion
include announcements of research publications and publication of educational
materials for the field, announcements about new educational programs, grant
announcements, conference announcements and calls for proposals, and news of
organizational activities that the APPAM office determines would be of general
interest to the requested list.
APPAM will not provide lists to organizations that resell lists to other parties.
All list rental is for one-time use only and lists must be destroyed after that
one use. APPAM will not provide lists to organizations that sell services unrelated
to the direct practice of research, analysis or education in the field.
Pricing and Manner of Provision
Institutional members of APPAM may receive lists
at no charge. Beginning November 1, 2006, all other organizations must pay $250
per list. The fee does not depend on the number of addresses on the list.
All lists are provided in electronic format according the specifications of the
request. APPAM does not print labels or use other print formats for lists.
Requesting a List
To request a list, please send an email message to APPAM.
A staff person in the APPAM office will send a form to be completed and returned
by email or FAX with a sample of the intended mailing. APPAM will not release
a list until a sample is provided for review. Prepayment for the list may be
necessary depending on the account history.
