Member Forum: At the Intersection of Data Science and Social Science

The proliferation of new digital data sources and the development of new programming languages that can quickly make sense of these data are changing the nature of how public policy makers and the general public understand how government works – and when it doesn’t. This discussion will focus on the road ahead for data and social science, how to communicate better when the lanes merge, and what this all means for getting to better-informed policies and programs that improve public well-being.

Social Equity Leadership Conference Coming in June

The 12th Annual Social Equity Leadership Conference will be held this year from June 5 to 7 at North Carolina State University in Raleigh. The theme of this year’s conference is Globally Engaged, Locally Responsible: New Challenges for Social Equity. Sessions will highlight existing and emerging issues involving social equity in nonprofits, education, policing and corrections, at-risk communities including immigrants, aging and the elderly, housing, transportation, environmental protection & sustainability, and inclusive excellence.
