“We strongly believe that more college students need to be exposed to the field of public policy, so they can understand how evidence-based, innovative policies can address some of the biggest challenges facing societies around the world today," said UCR SPP Dean Anil Deolalikar. "This is why we are so eager to host APPAM’s Public Policy Camp here at UC Riverside’s School of Public Policy. We are confident the camp will generate strong interest among bright, idealistic students with a commitment to public service in pursuing graduate studies – and eventually careers – in public policy.”
Established in 2012, the UC Riverside (UCR) School of Public Policy is home to the only undergraduate public policy program in the ten-campus University of California system, as well as the only Master of Public Policy program offered by a major research university in inland Southern California. With its motto, “Solutions for the Region, Solutions for the World,” the UCR School of Public Policy is distinctive in its focus on addressing the big policy challenges facing California – and in particular the inland region – while placing an emphasis on applying policy lessons learned from other parts of the nation and the world to solving California’s problems.
