Like many countries, the U.S. has a federal system of government, with public policies designed and implemented at federal, state and local levels. Sound policy design and implementation therefore requires thoughtful consideration of how policies play out, and interact, at multiple levels of government. And useful policy research requires careful attention to the context in which a policy is implemented, including the level of government. APPAM uses a lottery system for our most popular limited-quantity items. The 2024 lottery closed on April 12 and all items are now on a first come, first served basis. Sponsorship availability will be updated on a regular basis.
There will be three different general sponsor levels for the 2024 APPAM Fall Research Conference and recognition will be given to each sponsor in marketing materials, onsite at the conference, and on APPAM.org. Mobile App – The Mobile App is the most up-to-date way to access conference information while at the conference. All sponsors and exhibitors will be recognized through the Sponsors & Exhibitors section of the map, in addition to rotating home page banner ads and static policy area banner ads.

APPAM Dependent Care Grant program offers policy students and young professionals grants of up to $400 each to help cover expenses for additional at-home or on-site dependent care. APPAM is pleased to host the eighth cohort of Equity and Inclusion fellows at the #2024APPAM conference this November. The fellowship recognizes students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds for their accomplishments and bright futures in the public policy world. In addition to long-time sponsorship favorites, the Equity & Inclusion meet-up and luncheon, we're looking for a premier partner to facilitate this year's fellowship.

The fellowship lunch honors the 2024 fellows alongside APPAM leadership, sponsors, and past fellows, in addition to a keynote address. APPAM has four unique platforms for digital advertisements this fall. All digital ads have a redirect link to a website of the sponsor's choosing. Starting in 2024, APPAM will no longer offer a printed program or pocket guide. Attendee's will solely rely on the Online Program, APPAM website, and mobile app for planning their conference experience.
- Online Program - APPAM uses Confex for the online program and it's used by attendees to plan their conference experience. Attendees utilize the online program to get session & speaker details, explore networking opportunities, and download session papers/handouts. Home page and interior page ads rotate automatically every 20 seconds. Policy area ads are static. Ad artwork is due in early summer.
- Registration System - APPAM uses Memberclicks for conference registration and there will be one randomized registration sponsor ad per location per form. Ad artwork is due in early summer.
- Mobile app - The annual conference mobile app launches a few weeks prior to the start of the conference and is the number one way attendees get around the conference. Exhibits & Lounge Space
The APPAM Exhibit Hall has long been the meeting, networking, and refreshment spot for attendees. Various special events are hosted inside of the Exhibit Hall, such as registration, a poster reception, a poster luncheon, morning and afternoon refreshment breaks, the headshot lounge, and much more. There are now two great options for your to participate in the 2024 Exhibit Hall:
- Booth – This is the traditional APPAM booth that will come with back and side drape, one to two draped six-foot tables, two chairs, and a small ID sign. Exhibit booths should be staffed throughout the open exhibit hall hours.
Participating in the APPAM Career & PhD Program Fair on Friday, November 22? Exhibitors are eligible for a complimentary table at the fair.
- Lounge Pod - Can’t staff a booth but want a spot to meet with colleagues and have your logo featured prominently in the hall? Exhibit hall lounge pods are a hot commodity for attendees looking for a spot to network, catch up on emails, or to enjoy a quick cup of coffee before the next round of sessions. Lounge pods will be located inside of the Exhibit Hall and will come with comfortable and attractive seating for up to four people and a branded charging tabletop for your logo or ad of choice.

Affiliate Receptions
APPAM Institutional Members are invited to host a reception during the conference utilizing complimentary APPAM meeting space in the hotel. APPAM will assign space based on expected attendance and order of request. Organizations will arrange room set up, catering, AV, and direct billing/payment with the hotel. Please be aware that space will only be available on Thursday, November 21 immediately following the APPAM Presidential Address and Awards. Space will be reserved on a first come, first served basis. The affiliate reception requests will take place in spring 2024.
Career & PhD Program Fair
The Career & PhD Program Fair will take place on Friday, November 22 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Exhibitors are eligible for a complimentary fair table to meet with interested students and job seekers during this two-hour event. Not exhibiting this year? Institutional members receive discounted fair table rates. Tables will be reserved on a first come, first served basis. The dedicated event website and table reservations will open in spring 2024.
Interview Space
Will your organization be interviewing candidates at #2024APPAM? Let us take care of the space! APPAM is pleased to offer complimentary private interview space to our members this November. Rooms can be reserved in one-hour increments, for a maximum of three total hours, from Thursday, November 21 – Saturday, November 23.Space will be reserved on a first come, first served basis. The interview space request form will open in late spring 2024.
