The Association for Public Policy Analysis (APPAM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving public policy and management by fostering excellence in research, analysis, and education. APPAM has over 2,500 academic, practitioner, organizational, student, and institutional members.

APPAM promotes its mission through the following activities:

  • A multidisciplinary annual research conference that attracts the highest quality research on a wide variety of important current and emerging policy and management issues, and is structured to encourage substantive interaction among participants. The APPAM Fall Research Conference hosts over 250 sessions, 2,000 attendees, and dozens of exhibitors each November.  
  • Journal of Policy Analysis and Management (JPAM), a peer-reviewed multidisciplinary journal that publishes the highest quality research on public policy and management. Based on the 2015 Reuters ISI two and five-year impact factors, JPAM is ranked among the top three journals of public administration. In 2015, there were 265,315 JPAM article downloads and articles received over 10,000 unique monthly visitors.
  • A dedication in all activities to respecting and enhancing racial, ethnic, gender, disciplinary, and other forms of diversity among participants in all the Association's activities. The APPAM Diversity Committee created the Equity & Inclusion Diversity Fellowship to introduce student recipients to the world of public policy and APPAM, and foster a lifelong affiliation and engagement with both. Selected Fellowship recipients are honored at the annual APPAM Fall Research Conference with an award presentation.
  • Initiatives that include and foster participation in the Association among students interested in public policy and management. APPAM’s Regional Student Conferences allow students to present research across a wide variety of policy areas, through poster sessions and on conference panels with their peers.
  • In addition to the annual Fall Research Conference and Student Regional Conferences, APPAM hosts an annual International Conference and Institutional Forums. The International Conference was developed to focus on a specific policy concern shared by many countries, bringing global research and administrations together. APPAM Institutional Forums are panels, jointly hosted by APPAM and APPAM Institutional Members, which examine current policy issues.

APPAM Website Advertising Opportunities

The APPAM website is a great way to strengthen your presence and maximize exposure. Make your product or program known to APPAM members and non-members. The website is a key source of information for public policy professionals and students. From public policy news, membership information, career opportunities and events, the APPAM website is a prime spot to keep your message in front of public policy professionals. APPAM.org averaged over 13,000 views/month in 2016. Website traffic has increased by an average of 10% annually.

APPAM Update eNewsletters

The APPAM Update eNewsletters are delivered every month through Constant Contact, APPAM’s email marketing service. The Updates are sent to three target audiences – APPAM student members, APPAM professional members, and our APPAM institutional representatives -  totaling more than 2,500 APPAM members interested in public policy analysis and management. Increase your organization’s exposure by advertising in these targeted e-newsletters.

The footer ads on three monthly APPAM Update emails: $150 /month, ad size: 560 x 200.

APPAM Blast Emails

APPAM regularly sends out emails to its membership and prospective member list (about 7,500 recipients) promoting its events, services and other important information. These are sent out 3 – 4 times a month and are separate from the APPAM Update newsletter.  Include your organization’s advertisement in one of these emails and expand your reach.

APPAM Fall Research Conference

Ads for the APPAM Fall Conference can be placed in the digital preliminary program and the final printed program. The digital preliminary program on APPAM.org will be seen by everyone who registers for the conference, comes to the site to get hotel information, or looks at the program agenda. The digital ads come with a link back to your website. The final program will be seen by the 2,000+ people that attend the conference. APPAM Institutional Members receive a 10% discount on the prices below.

Submitting Your Ad

Ads should be submitted via email to kgrandstaff@appam.org. They should be in .jpg or .gif format. Ads must be submitted in the coloring and sizing specific to the ad placement requirements. Ads will not be recolored or resized after submission. For web-based ad sizes, please review the sizing chart under the “Website Advertising Rates” section of this document. An ad placement map, can be found here.

Deadlines

Art files for website, e-newsletter, and blast email ads should be sent no later than one week before the 1st of the month in which ad will run. Art files for the Fall Research Conference Digital Preliminary Program are due June 2, 2017. Art work for the Fall Research Conference Final Program ads is due on September 29, 2017.
