The APPAM Fall Research Conference is a multi-disciplinary annual research conference that attracts the highest quality research on a wide variety of important current and emerging policy and management issues. The conference is comprised of panels, roundtables, and poster presentations and is designed to encourage substantive interaction among participants.

Please note that all 2018 Fall Research Conference sessions and events will take place at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park, located at 2660 Woodley Road NW, Washington, District Of Columbia 20008 USA. The hotel desk can be reached at (202) 328-2000.

Hotel Details

APPAM has a room block rate at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park. The rate is $219 per night + taxes and fees. The room block rate will be available until October 2nd. A one-night deposit is required when booking your stay. 

Check-in time for the Washington Marriott Wardman Park is 3:00pm and check-out is 12:00pm. Parking is available onsite: Self parking available at $48.00, valet parking available at $55.00.

Airports

Dulles International Airport 

30 miles / 40-minute drive – Driving directions from Dulles Airport to the Washington Marriott Wardman Park are available here.

Metro Directions:

  • From the airport, take the SL1 bus to the Wiehle-Reston Metro Station, about 10 minutes.
  • Take the Silver Line toward Largo Town Center to the Metro Center Station, about 40 minutes.
  • At the Metro Center Station, transfer to the Red Line toward Shady Grove.
  • Get off at the Woodley Park-Zoo Metro Station, about 10 minutes.
  • Walk a block to the hotel: south on 24th St. NW, take the immediate right onto the hotel drive.

Reagan National Airport

7 miles / 20-minute drive – Driving directions from Reagan National Airport to the Washington Marriott Wardman Park are available here.

Metro Directions:

  • The metro station is directly outside the airport.
  • Take the Yellow Line toward Fort Totten to the Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro Station, about 15 minutes.
  • At the Gallery Place Station, transfer to the Red Line toward Shady Grove.
  • Get off at the Woodley Park-Zoo Metro Station, about 10 minutes.
  • Walk a block to the hotel: south on 24th St. NW, take the immediate right onto the hotel drive.

Baltimore Washington International Airport

40 miles / 1-hour drive – Driving directions from Baltimore Airport to the Washington Marriott Wardman Park are available here.

Train and Metro Direction:

  • Take the BWI Amtrack/MARC shuttle to the train station, about 15 minutes.
  • Take an Amtrack, Acela or MARC train to Union Station in Washington, DC, about 30-45 minutes.
  • At Union Station, board the Metro Red Line toward Shady Grove.
  • Get off at the Woodley Park-Zoo Metro Station, about 10 minutes.
  • Walk a block to the hotel: south on 24th St. NW, take the immediate right onto the hotel drive.
