Award and Fellowship Nominations Open for the 2018 Fall Research Conference

Nominations for the 2018 awards, as well as the application for the 2018 Equity and Inclusion Fellowship and the 40 for 40 Fellowship, are now open. All recipients will be honored at the 2018 Fall Research Conference. See below for details.

40 for 40 Fellowship

40-40_logoIn recent years, APPAM has consistently developed more resources and opportunities for our early career professional members. To build on that momentum as we celebrate our 40th Annual Fall Research Conference, APPAM introduces the 40 for 40 Fellowship. This 2018-exclusive program will provide funding for 40 outstanding early career research professionals to attend the Fall Conference – the premier research conference attracting the highest-quality work on a wide variety of current and emerging policy and management issues. Any public policy researcher, academic, or practitioner within five years of the receipt of their terminal degree is eligible for consideration of the fellowship.

Because this fellowship is fully donor-funded, we're only able to honor the number of individuals for which we have raised funds. Help ensure that we're able to name all 40 fellows by donating today. We recognize that the future of public policy research greatly depends on the meaningful work of these professionals and as such believe they should have opportunities to share their research and the impacts it has in the policy world. This is truly a unique way allow the policy community to support its rising members!

The 40 for 40 Fellowship application closes August 15th.

Application and donation information is available here.

Equity and Inclusion Fellowship

Equity_and_Inclusion_Fellowship_LunchThe Equity and Inclusion Fellowship supports the travel and participation of up to 40 students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds at the 2018 Fall Research Conference. While at the conference, the fellowship recipients will have the opportunity to formally network with each other and with members of the Policy Council and Diversity Committee, recognizing them, their accomplishments and bright futures. They will also have many opportunities to informally network with other students and professionals during the conference.

In an effort to encourage participation by underrepresented students in APPAM and its activities, the Policy Council and APPAM’s Diversity Committee created the ‘APPAM Equity & Inclusion Fellowship’ in April 2016. The goal of this fellowship program is to introduce recipients to the world of public policy and APPAM, and foster a lifelong affiliation and engagement with both.

The Equity and Inclusion Fellowship application closed May 25th.
