2017 Fall Conference Hotel & Travel Information



The 2017 Fall Research Conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Chicago in Chicago, IL. The hotel is just steps away from Chicago's "Magnificent Mile" and the "L" trains. Hotel room block information will be available when registration for the event opens in July.

APPAM has a room block rate at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. The rate is $230 per night + taxes and fees. The room block rate will be available until October 2nd. A one-night deposit is required when booking your stay.

The hotel block is now closed.

Check-in time for the Hyatt Regency Chicago is 3:00pm and check-out is 12:00pm. 



Midway Airport (MDW) – 12 miles/35-minute drive

Driving directions from Midway Airport to the Hyatt Regency Chicago are available here.

To get to the Hyatt Regency Chicago from Midway Airport using the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Train, board the Orange line train towards Loop at Midway. Ride the train for 13 stops before departing the train at the State/Lake station. From the State/Lake train station, you will walk 0.4 miles north on N. State Street before turning right onto E. Wacker Drive. The hotel will be on your right. This trip takes a total of 40 minutes. CTA scheduling and ticket information can be found on their website.

O'Hare Airport (ORD) – 20 miles/50-minute drive

To get to the Hyatt Regency Chicago from O'Hare Airport using the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Train, board the Blue line train towards Forest Park at O'Hare. Ride the train for 16 stops before departing the train at the Clark/Lake station. From the Clark/Lake train station, you will walk 0.6 miles east on Lake St., then turn left on N. Garvey Ct. Turn right on E. Wacker Dr. and the hotel will be on your right. This trip takes a total of 55 minutes. CTA scheduling and ticket information can be found on their website.

The major rental car companies can be found at either of the two major airports: MDW or ORD.

Rental Bicycles

The Divvy Bike Sharing program is available throughout the Chicago metro area, with the closest station located within one block of the Hyatt Regency Chicago at the corner of Stetson Ave. and S. Water St. Access to the bike sharing program can be purchased for under $10/day. Maps and bike availability are accessible here.

Shuttles, Taxis, and Ridesharing Information 

Go Airport Express offers door-to-door service to and from Midway and O'Hare airports and most city and suburban neighborhoods from 6 am to 11:30 pm. Departures are about every 15 minutes. Please call Go Airport Express directly at the numbers below for specific departure information and fare estimates. Lift-equipped vehicles are available on request for passengers with disabilities. In Chicago, smartphone apps such as Arro and Curb allow travelers to order taxi service from nearby providers, while apps like LyftUber, and Via provide both ridesharing and private car services.

Rail Service 

The Hyatt Regency Chicago is located four blocks from the State/Lake train station.

State/Lake is an 'L' station serving the CTA's Brown, Green, Orange, Pink, and Purple Lines. It is an elevated station with two side platforms, located in the Chicago Loop at 200 North State Street.
