Registration Information

The Registration Booth is located in the Albuquerque Convention Center, Lower Level and will be open during the following hours:

Wednesday, 11/5 3:00 - 5:00 pm
Thursday, 11/6 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Friday, 11/7 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Saturday, 11/8 8:00 am - noon


Registration includes access to all sessions, continental breakfast each day, refreshments breaks each day, receptions each evening, lunch on Saturday, and all other official conference activities.

You will have the opportunity during the registration process to purchase a ticket for the APPAM Membership and Awards Lunch, which will be held on Friday, November 7, 12:00 – 1:15 pm. Tickets cost $30 and will be for sale until 11:45 am on Friday, 11/7.

In order to receive member pricing, you must be a current individual APPAM member in good standing. If you need to renew your membership, you must renew your membership first, including payment, before registering for the conference or you will not receive the member price. If you're not sure of your member status or need assistance with renewal/joining APPAM, please contact Tristanne Staudt.

If you wish to register as a student for the Fall Research Conference, you must first join APPAM as a student member. The cost of an APPAM student membership is $35 and can be purchased here or onsite.


Registrations can be made using domestic checks, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express cards. We cannot accept foreign money orders or bank transfers from individuals. Please note that during the registration process, you will be given opportunity to print an invoice for your registration.

Everyone presenting a paper or poster, taking part in a roundtable or acting as a chair or discussant must register and pay for the conference. APPAM requires everyone presenting papers on panels to register by Friday, September 26. APPAM reserves the right to remove/replace papers from the conference if panelists do not register by this date.

Registration Add-Ons

APPAM & NASPAA Joint Reception

Wednesday, November 5, 2014  6:00 pm - 8:00 pm -  Complimentary for all attendees; RSVP preferred

APPAM and NASPAA will jointly hold a reception for attendees of both conferences at the Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum.  Join us for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while you network with your colleagues. The museum features exhibits on the history of air ballooning, has an expansive view of the Sandia Mountains, and tethered hot air balloon rides will be available. Transportation will be provided for those wishing to attend.

Awards Lunch

Friday, November 7, 2014   Noon - 1:15 pm  -  Members & Non-Members: $30

Join fellow members for the annual APPAM membership meeting and support your colleagues as various awards are presented, including: Raymond Vernon Memorial Award, Best Ph.D. Dissertation Award, the JCPA Comparative Policy Award, and the Exemplar Award.  After lunch, the Exemplar Award winner will give a presenation.

Tickets for the Awards Lunch are available for purchase at the Registration booth in the Albuquerque Convention Center until 11:45 am on Friday, 11/7.
