Nominations for 2021 APPAM Policy Council and Leadership
Have you ever considered being more involved in APPAM? One of the most rewarding ways to serve the Association is through the Policy Council, the APPAM Board of Directors. APPAM is soliciting its members for nominations to the APPAM Policy Council and for the officer positions of APPAM President-Elect, Vice-President, and Treasurer. All terms will begin in 2021. Officer positions are two years and board positions are four years.
In addition to the officers positions, the membership will elect four individuals to the Policy Council this year: an early career researcher working in an academic setting, a researcher working in an academic setting, one researcher working in a non-academic setting and one institutional representative, who will be elected directly by the institutional representatives. The individual(s) nominated must be members in good standing. You can self-nominate or put forward the name of a member whom you feel would be an excellent leadership candidate. Please send the name of the person being nominated, organization, and a 250 word statement on why the person would be an excellent candidate. As part of its commitment to equity and inclusion, APPAM encourages underrepresented candidates to apply for Policy Council Service.
Please submit your statement to Tara Sheehan, APPAM Executive Director, by Monday, August 31.
The full roster of candidates will be presented to the membership at the APPAM Membership Meeting and Plenary, held in conjunction with the Fall Research Conference on Friday, November 13, on Zoom. Shortly thereafter, voting took place and the winners were be announced in January 2021. A similar process will take place for 2022.
You can find a list of the current APPAM Officers, members of the APPAM Policy Council, and the APPAM bylaws on the Association website.
