Hotel reservations should be made before October 21 in order to secure the APPAM room block rate. To reserve a hotel room at the Hyatt, please contact the hotel directly, either by phone or through this specialized link. When calling, indicate that you would like to make a reservation at the Hyatt Regency Miami and mention APPAM to secure the APPAM room rate. Upon securing a hotel reservation, you will be charged a non-refundable deposit of the first night’s room fees and taxes.

Additional location and travel information can be found on the Hotel and Travel Information page..

Guidelines

In August an email was sent out that allows presenters access to “Presenters Corner.” Please use this tool to find contact information for all the people taking part in your session (other presenters, chair and discussant(s)). If you have not received that information by August 24, please contact Tristanne Staudt immediately.

If you are a poster presenter, please review these guidelines for posters.

Chair

The session chair is a critical component for success. Please review a detailed list of guidelines for chairs to facilitate a smooth and successful session.

Presenter

If you are a presenter, please reach out to your session chair and let them know the status of your paper and when you plan on uploading it for the discussant. If your paper is not ready to be posted publicly, you can share it with the discussant privately but you must share it with them by October 8 to give them adequate time to prepare comments.

Please review a more detailed list of presenter guidelines.

Discussant

The quality of audience participation in a session is dependent on the role of the discussant(s). You should allot yourself at least two weeks to read presenter papers so you can formulate comments and tie the papers together for your session. Presenters will have papers uploaded for your review by October 8; if by this date you do not have all necessary papers, please contact your session chair and presenting authors as soon as possible.

Please review a more detailed list of discussant guidelines.

Technology Requirements

Many people use PowerPoint to prepare and display presentations. APPAM will provide LCD projectors and screens in all meeting rooms for use during conference sessions. The Program Committee urges all conference participants to ensure that use of this technology does not interrupt or delay a session. With a strict 90 minutes for panel sessions, even a minor delay can greatly hamper the success of a panel.

Remember that there will be less than 15 minutes available for setting up computer equipment prior to the start of most sessions. All presenters on a session may wish to put their presentations on a single computer or flash drive to simplify matters during the panel. Please note, APPAM does not provide laptops for the panels so if a presentation requires a computer, one of the presenters must bring one.

HDMI, PC, and Mac cables will be available, however we will not have cords available for use with iPads or other tablets that require a non-USB or HDMI hook up.
