The APPAM Fall Research Conference is a multi-disciplinary annual research conference that attracts the highest quality research on a wide variety of important current and emerging policy and management issues. The conference is comprised of panels, roundtables, and poster presentations and is designed to encourage substantive interaction among participants.

PhD Program Fair
The PhD Program Fair is a great opportunity to make connections with potential PhD students. You will have the opportunity to reserve a table at the session and staff it with an admissions officer or someone else who could talk about the benefits of your program. You can also bring materials for distributions. This opportunity is being offered at no charge but space is limited. The fair is on Friday, November 9, from 12:00 - 1:15 pm.
Staffing a table at the PhD Fair proved to be a valuable experience. My colleague Mark Long and I spoke at length with many of those in attendance – it was time well-spent. Not only were we able to learn more about the interests and experiences of prospective applicants, but it was a great venue to share about our doctoral program and the school’s mission. We are particularly excited that one of our incoming doctoral students for Fall 2018 came to us through the PhD Fair – we look forward to participating again this fall!"

Interview Space Opportunities
Will your organization be interviewing candidates at the APPAM Conference? Let us take care of the space!
Many institutional members use the Fall Research Conference as a meeting place to interview potential employees. To assist our members, APPAM would like to offer complimentary, private space for this purpose. Once you reserve the space, you have access to the room for the entire time on the date of your reservation. At the conclusion of the reservation times each day, the room will be refreshed for use by the next organization.

Interviewing organizations will be responsible for arranging their own candidate interviews and are welcome to host as many interviews in the space as possible within their reserved time.
Sharing Available Positions
While APPAM will not assist in arranging interviews, we are able to share your job posting in the Job Listing section of APPAM.org. To have your listing shared with these groups, please send your posting information, including title, job description, requirements, and contact information, to Larissa Dalton Stephanoff, email@example.com.
In the event that you would like to order additional food or beverage, we can connect you with a hotel representative. All additional food and beverage purchases will be the responsibility of the interviewing organization and will work directly with the hotel for billing purposes.
The 2018 APPAM Fall Research Conference will be held Thursday – Saturday, November 8-10 at the Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, DC.
If your institution is interested in hosting a reception or meeting during the conference and would like to utilize space in the hotel, please complete the form below. APPAM will assign all space based on expected attendance and order of request. Organizations will arrange all room set up, catering, and AV orders directly with the hotel once space has been assigned. Please be aware that space will only be available on Friday, November 9th.
Important: To reserve space for an affiliate reception, please fill out this form and return to Tristanne Staudt at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have questions, please call 202.496.0130. Please submit your form by July 31st. Space will be assigned after the deadline and communicated to you for marketing purposes. Should the size of your event change, APPAM reserves the right to reassign your event to a room that is closer to expected attendance, based on final RSVP numbers.
- The APPAM Presidential Address is on Friday, November 9th from 5:00 – 6:15 pm and is followed by the Presidential Reception from 6:30 - 8:00 pm. Receptions may not begin before 6:15 pm.
- You will be assigned space for your reception by APPAM. A Marriott Wardman Park Catering Representative will send menus with a request for your food and beverage order once you room has been assigned. All billing will be handled by Marriott Wardman Park.
- APPAM will print an announcement of your reception for free in the final conference program book, as long as you grant permission on the provided form
