We're excited to announce and highlight some #2023APPAM conference activities! These events are taking place Wednesday, November 8 - Saturday, November 11 in Atlanta, Georgia.

APPAM members and conference attendees are invited to attend one of our 2023 APPAM Communities gatherings! These get-togethers focus on shared interests or experiences, including, but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender, geographical location, methodology, innovative research topic, or research approach. The one-hour gatherings below are open to all conference attendees. More information can be found in the online program. You can learn about our yearlong APPAM Communities here

All gatherings are in US Eastern Time and will take place in Grand Hall A on the Exhibit Level. The lounge is sponsored by RAND Corporation

Career and PhD Program Fair

NEW in 2023! The longstanding APPAM PhD Program Fair is adding a new component! APPAM is excited to welcome local and out-of-town employers to join our inaugural Career Fair on Friday, November 10 from 1:00 - 3:00pm in Grand Hall East on the Exhibit Level.

Student Hub & Events

Student Hub: The Student Hub will be located near the APPAM Exhibit Hall and Registration on the Exhibit Level of the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. This is a space for students to network, recharge, or get work done in between sessions. Student Resource Sessions and Student Research Sessions will take place in separate meeting rooms.

This two-hour seminar is for all undergraduate and masters student attendees and it will focus on topics of interest and provide ample networking time with professionals in the field. You can find this session here in the Online Program

3:00 PM - Introductions

The seminar will kick off with a welcome from APPAM President, Kitt Carpenter. Professionals and students will introduce themselves and fill out a notecard with topics/questions that they want answered during the event.

3:10 PM - Policy Panel

This panel will feature five speakers from different career levels, sectors, and policy backgrounds to share advice and to discuss their experience in the field.

The final portion of programming will kick off with a brief discussion on resume & CV tips and tricks and it will be followed by job document review by professionals in the field. For those who do not bring a resume, this portion of programming will be continued networking time. 

Students should bring a printed copy of their current resume/CV for this portion of programming.
