2018 Fall Research Conference General Sponsorship Levels

APPAM institutional members will have the opportunity to sponsor the entire Fall Conference. There are different levels of sponsorship for the Fall Conference and recognition will be given to each sponsor at the social and business events, in pre-conference marketing materials, on signage at the conference and on APPAM.org. This is a great opportunity to highlight your program or institution in front of 2,200 potential students and employees.

All sponsorship items are available on a first come, first served basis.

APPAM reserves the right to substitute benefits included in the packages below depending on availability.  All substitutions will be of equal value.

Sponsorship Package Item Descriptions:

  • Preliminary Program Advertisements – Banner, Full Tower, or Half Tower ads placed on either the Landing (home page) or Interior Pages of the online Preliminary Program. An example of ad placement can be found here.

  • Final Program Advertisements – Cover, Section Tab, Full Page, and Half Page advertisements are available in the printed Final Program available to attendees onsite at the conference. Cover and Section Tab placements are limited. A list of available Section Tabs can be found in the Advertising Opportunities section below.

  • Logo Recognition in the Registration Foyer – Diamond, Platinum, and Gold level sponsors will have their logos featured in the Registration Foyer at the conference. The ads will rotate continuously throughout the event. 

  • Mobile App Push Notification Opportunities – Diamond and Platinum level sponsors will have the opportunity to send two notifications through the APPAM Mobile App. Scheduling and content subject to approval by APPAM.

  • Exhibit Space – Single booths include a 10’ x 10’ exhibit space, 6’ table, two chairs, an ID sign, and a wastebasket.  Sponsors may upgrade to a double booth for an additional $250. The exhibit hall will be the location for all poster sessions and several networking events.

  • Recognition – All sponsors will be recognized in signage throughout the conference space, all conference programs, and in scripted conference remarks.

  • Informational or Logo Collateral – Items may be placed at a Sponsor Table in the Registration Foyer. Popular items include pamphlets, pens, and notebooks; sponsors may place 800 of one item on the sponsor table. Sponsors will be responsible for the production and shipping of the items.

In addition to the general conference sponsorship levels, there are also several individual items available for sponsorship.

Charging Station – $3,000 / $3,300    - SOLD!

Offer attendees a place to recharge themselves and their devices. This sponsorship includes a branded charging table near the exhibit hall and session rooms.

Conference Lanyards – $5,000  / $5,500    - SOLD!

Your organization's name and logo will appear on the lanyard of every registration badge given out at the 2017 Fall Research Conference. This is a great opportunity to see your organization's logo around the neck of 2,200+ attendees.

Conference Water Bottles – $5,000 / $5,500  - SOLD!

Your organization's name and logo will appear on water bottles available to all attendees. The bottles will be placed throughout the conference space including the exhibit hall, session rooms, and registration area. This is a great opportunity to see your organization's logo in the hands of over 2,000 attendees.

Daily Event Email – $1,500 / $1,650 per day  - SOLD!

Get the chance to brand APPAM’s daily event emails. The event emails are sent to all registered attendees the day before the event and each day of the conference. These emails will summarize each day’s events and provide a preview of what can be expected the next day. The sponsor(s) of these emails will be recognized in the header and footer of each email as well as in the text with a link to a URL of their choosing.
 
These emails are successfully delivered to 2,000 individuals each day and have open rates of approximately 55%.

Hotel Key Cards – $5,000  / $5,500    - SOLD!

Your organization’s logo will be placed on the keycard to all APPAM attendee hotel rooms. This is a great opportunity for your organization’s name and logo to be in the hands of each attendee!

Innovation Lounge – $1,500  / $1,650  - SOLD!

Place your organization’s name and logo on signage throughout the new Innovation Lounge in the registration area!   This lounge will provide a comfortable space for conference attendees to network and share timely and innovate research on which they may be working.  The space will be open for the duration of the conference and will be highly visible to all 2,200+ attendees as they flow through registration, receptions, and the exhibit hall..

Literature at Registration – $750 / $825

One piece of your organization’s literature or other keepsake will be displayed on a literature table in the registration foyer. Sponsors will provide 800 pieces of the insert or items to be displayed.

Mobile App – $7,500 / $8,250  - SOLD!

Your organization’s logo will appear on the landing page of the 2017 Fall Research Conference mobile app as well as on various signage around the conference as the mobile app sponsor. This is a great opportunity to get your logo and organization’s information in the hands of all attendees, most of whom access the app several times throughout the conference. APPAM’s 2016 post conference survey indicated that 65% of attendees use the app before and during the conference.  
 
Advertising within the mobile app will be exclusively for the app sponsor and APPAM.  No other organizations’ ads will be shown in the app.

Refreshment Break – $1,850 / $2,035 each 

This sponsorship includes signage on the tables.  The refreshment breaks will have coffee, tea, water, and daily themes for the snacks. There are three breaks available: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday Morning.

Registration Window Cling – $750 / $825

Place your organization’s name and logo on columns throughout the registration area. This is a great opportunity to have your organization’s name and logo, front and center!

Your logo will be placed on 3' circular window cling just above the registration and exhibit hall area so it will be visible to all attendees as they check-in, grab a cup of coffee, attendee sessions, and mingle at poster sessions and the Welcome Reception.

There are a total of four window cling spaces available for purchase.

Registration Ribbon Wall $5,000 / $5,500

Feature your organization on the APPAM Ribbon Wall, located in the Registration Area. After picking up their badge, all attendees are encouraged to select ribbons from the Ribbon Wall that describe them. Popular ribbons include: Academic, Practitioner, Government, Policy Wonk, and First Time Attendee.

Ruby Fund Donation & 40 for 40 Fellowship

New in 2018! To commemorate the 40th APPAM Fall Research Conference, APPAM would like to honor 40 outstanding young research professionals at this year's conference in Washington, DC, through the new 40 for 40 Fellowship. The 40 for 40 fellowship will be solely funded by donor-contributions to the newly established Ruby Fund, a term selected in a nod to the 40th anniversary of APPAM Fall Research Conferences. The Ruby Fund was created with the sole intent to support the advancement of young professionals in the public policy community through participation in APPAM events.

We recognize that the future of public policy greatly depends on the meaningful work of young professionals and as such believe they should have opportunities to share their research and the impacts it has in the policy world.  This is truly a unique way allow the policy community to support its rising members!

One hundred percent of donations to the Ruby Fund are tax-deductible and will go directly towards the goal of encouraging the inclusion of outstanding research by young professionals into APPAM and its events. Other sponsorship opportunities and purchases are not tax-deductible. All institutional donors will be recognized on signage at the event as well as in conference materials. Student Lounge – $1,000 / $1,100   - SOLD!

To encourage networking and research collaboration, the 2018 Fall Research Conference will have a designated lounge area for the nearly 500 student attendees. The lounge will be open to all student attendees on Thursday and Friday of the conference. Experienced professionals will be visiting the lounge throughout this time to participate in ‘Ask the Expert’ sessions and to mentor students.

Special Event Sponsorship

We will have several conference events available for non-exclusive sponsorship. All sponsorships include signage at the event, recognition in all conference publications, and the opportunity to provide literature to all event attendees. 

Equity & Inclusion Fellowship Luncheon – $2,500 /  $2750   - SOLD!

In its third year, APPAM will host an event for the recipients of the 2017 Equity & Inclusion Fellowship. The Fellowship recognizes students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds for their accomplishments and bright futures in the public policy world. 35 Fellowships will be awarded in 2017, up from 25 Fellowships in 2016. The sponsor of this luncheon event will have their organization featured at the event in signage, all conference materials, and in scripted remarks. This is a non-exclusive sponsorship; the event may be sponsored by up to three organizations.

LGBTQI Meet Up – $1,500 /  $1,650

New in 2018!  APPAM will host a special reception on the evening of Friday, November 9th to welcome any LGBTQI attendees to the conference. The reception will provide these attendees an opportunity to freely network and discuss their conference experience over complimentary hors d'ouerves and cocktails. 

Your organization can sponsor this event and would be featured on signage and in all promotional material . This is a non-exclusive sponsorship; the event may be sponsored by up to five organizations.

Poster Happy Hour – $3,000 / $3,300 

Join APPAM and several hundred of your fellow attendees at the new Poster Happy Hour!  This event will take place from 3:30 – 5:00 pm on Thursday, November 8th.  The happy hour will offer beer, wine, and hors d’oeurves before leading directly into the Welcome Reception.  Your organization can sponsor this event and would be featured on signage and in all promotional material throughout the event. This is a non-exclusive sponsorship; the event may be sponsored by up to four organizations.

Poster sessions feature around 75 poster presentations and are usually attended by approximately 400 APPAM Fall Conference attendees. 

Saturday Poster Luncheon – $3,000 / $3,300   - Three remaining!

Join APPAM and several hundred of your fellow attendees at the Saturday Poster Luncheon!  Your organization can sponsor this events and would be featured on signage and in all promotional material throughout the event. This is a non-exclusive sponsorship; the event may be sponsored by up to four organizations.

Poster luncheons feature around 75 poster presentations and are usually attended by approximately 300 APPAM Fall Conference attendees. 

Student Mixer – $1,000 / $1,100   - Four remaining!

APPAM will host a networking meet-up event for Master’s and PhD students on Friday evening, November 9th. All student attendees are invited to participate and meet other students from all over the world. Your organization can sponsor this event and would be featured on signage, in all promotional material and in remarks throughout the event. This is a non-exclusive sponsorship; the event may be sponsored by up to five organizations.

Past APPAM Student Happy Hours have attracted 100 -150 attendees. 

 


 

2018 Fall Research Conference Advertising Opportunities

There will be two platforms for advertisements at the 2018 Fall Research Conference: the digital preliminary program and the final printed program. The digital preliminary program on APPAM.org will be seen by everyone who registers for the conference, comes to the site to get hotel information, or looks at the program agenda. The digital ads come with a link back to your website. The final printed program will be seen and used by the 2,200 people that attend the conference. A pdf of the final printed program will also be available online. 

Please see the advertisement specification documents below for particulars on formats for the digital ads, formats for printed ads, and how to submit the ads. The deadline for reserving and submitting ads in the digital preliminary program is June 15th. The deadline for reserving and submitting ads in the final program is September 14th.

2018 Fall Research Conference Exhibit Space

APPAM will offer all organizations the opportunity to exhibit at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park for the Fall Research Conference. Exhibit space is limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis. This is a great opportunity to promote your program to students, potential employees and the public policy community.

The exhibit area will be designed and managed by an exhibit hall decorating company. As such, it will be easier to order internet, electricity, order furniture and ship your booth materials to and from the conference. The exhibit area will be in very large ballroom with the posters but will also feature access to meeting space, refreshments, a lounge area and charging areas for attendees. With its central location, we anticipate that the exhibit hall will be the central gathering area for all attendees attending the conference. Exhibitors will also be able to submit their preferences for their booth space using the Exhibit Hall Floor Plan in September

The fee for reserving the exhibit space includes one (1) registration for exhibit personnel. You may register up to three additional personnel at the rate of $250 each. All exhibit personnel must be registered for the conference to gain access to the exhibit space.

Each pipe and draped space will come equipped with a 6’ skirted table, two chairs, a waste basket and an ID sign. The space does not need to be staffed during exhibit hours but the safety and security of the items displayed are the responsibility of the exhibitor. See below for exhibit hours; at the conclusion of the exhibit hours each day, the room will be locked.
